KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 13 (Bernama) -- A man was arrested on suspicion of murdering his elderly father after his body was found in the living room of an apartment in Bandar Sri Permaisuri, Cheras early this morning.
Cheras district police chief Supt Ridzuan Khalid said the unemployed son, 24, was arrested following the discovery of the body of victim, 62, with severe injuries to his face and head, at 3.01 am.
“Preliminary investigations found that the suspect was unhappy over family property issues and the police are still conducting further investigations to identify the true motive,” he said in a statement today, adding that the suspect has been remanded for seven days from today.
The body of the victim has been sent to Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital (HCTM) in Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia for an autopsy, he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
