Goods, Public Land Transport Companies Urged To Register For SKPS

PAPAR, Sept  13 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) has called on goods and public land transport companies to register for the Subsidised Petrol Control System (SKPS) at the link https://mysubsidi.kpdn.gov.my starting at 10 am this Monday.

Its minister, Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali, said registration via SKPS is crucial to ensure that the transport sector continues to benefit from the RON95 petrol subsidy, while enabling KPDN to effectively regulate the subsidy distribution mechanism for public land transport and goods vehicles.

He explained that nine categories of public land transport vehicles are eligible to apply, namely taxis, rental cars, school buses, hearses, ambulances, fire brigade, shuttle buses, stage buses and minibuses.

For the land transport sector of goods, he said, 12 vehicle categories are eligible to apply, such as panel vans, window vans, semi-panel vans, food catering lorries, food catering vans, rigid lorries for general cargo,  Luton/box, refrigerated products, animal enclosures and agricultural products and rigid vans.

“Eligibility requirements for SKPS registration include having a company registered in Malaysia, ownership of the registered vehicles, valid road tax, and ensuring the vehicles fall under the categories listed as eligible,” he said after opening the Sentuhan Kasih Jualan Rahmah MADANI and Consumer Advocacy programme here today.

Armizan said that the purchase of subsidised RON95 petrol by registered companies will be implemented through Fleet Cards issued by selected oil companies. This system aims to enhance the efficiency of subsidy distribution, minimise leakage risks, and curb fuel smuggling.

He added that the system’s design is based on the proven effectiveness of the Subsidised Diesel Control System (SKDS) implemented last year.

He said companies that successfully register under SKPS must immediately apply for Fleet Cards from the three selected oil companies, using the Approval letter and Vehicle List generated from the system.

“All public and goods transport companies are advised to register and apply for Fleet Cards as soon as possible so they can continue to benefit from the subsidy once the implementation date for the targeted RON95 subsidy is announced,” he said.

He noted that during SKDS, more than 300,000 vehicles in Peninsular Malaysia were involved, while SKPS is expected to involve over 100,000 vehicles across both sectors.

Armizan also encouraged oil companies to introduce digital fleet cards through their mobile applications as an alternative for more convenient access to subsidies.

Meanwhile, he said the implementation of the targeted RON95 petrol subsidy for individual private vehicles will be announced by the Ministry of Finance at the end of September.
