KANGAR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- The remand of a crane driver suspected of abusing his six-year-old nephew, which ended today, has been extended for another two days.
Kangar District Police chief ACP Yusharifuddin Mohd Yusop said Magistrate Ana Rozana Mohd Nor of the Kangar Magistrates’ Court granted the extension today.
“During this period, the investigation papers will be referred to the Perlis Deputy Public Prosecutor’s Office for further action,” he said briefly in a statement today.
On Sunday, the media reported that the 26-year-old man had been remanded for four days until today for allegedly abusing his nephew at a house in Jalan Kilang Ais, Kuala Perlis, near here.
Yusharifuddin was quoted as saying the suspect was arrested at 12.20 am on Sunday for allegedly hitting the boy’s left arm with a belt, which caused bruises on the victim’s hand.
