KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 9 (Bernama) -- Malaysia will continue to strengthen efforts towards realising the AI Nation 2030 aspiration with the goal of becoming a regional leader in artificial intelligence (AI), said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Chairing the meeting of the National Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council (MED4IRN), Anwar stressed that technological advancement must go hand in hand with tangible returns in terms of productivity and the people’s well-being.
As part of the digitalisation of public services, he said MyGOV Malaysia has been developed as a one-stop platform for all government transactions.
“Therefore, I have directed that all ministries and agencies immediately integrate their services into this application.
“The expansion of MyDigital ID is also being pursued with a target of 15 million registrations by the end of the year, supported by verification processes through the National Registration Department,” he said in a Facebook post today.
Anwar also suggested that improved internet access currently being implemented at public institutions of higher learning be extended to Matriculation Colleges, Vocational Colleges, Institutes of Teacher Education, as well as Technical and Vocational Education and Training institutions.
“My message is that strong digital infrastructure is a crucial foundation for driving the digital economy and ensuring technology truly benefits the people,” he said.
