JOHOR BAHRU, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- The Johor state government today contributed RM2.5 million to the people of Palestine via Tabung Kasih Johor-Palestin.
State Islamic Religious Affairs Committee chairman Mohd Fared Mohd Khalid said the contribution was presented by the Regent of Johor, Tunku Mahkota Ismail to the Palestinian Ambassador to Malaysia, Walid Abu Ali, after a special prayer at Masjid Sultan Abu Bakar here.
“His Royal Highness Tunku Mahkota Ismail also graciously presented his personal contribution to assist the Palestinian people,” Mohd Fared said in a Facebook post.
He said the special prayer for the well-being of Johor and both nations was also attended by Johor State Secretary Datuk Asman Shah, members of the State Executive Council, as well as players and coaches of the Harimau Malaya and Palestine national football teams.
Harimau Malaya will face Palestine in a Tier 1 international friendly at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium in Iskandar Puteri tomorrow.
