JAPEN Kelantan Ramps Up Publicity On SARA Appreciation Aid

KOTA BHARU, Sept 7 (Bernama) -- The Kelantan Information Department (JAPEN) is expanding its publicity campaign on the implementation of the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (SARA) Appreciation Aid to ensure the public fully understands the initiative.

Director Muhd Aswadi Mohd Nor said the campaign is necessary as many people are not aware of the redemption process and eligibility criteria. 

"Based on field observations, we found that people are genuinely enthusiastic about the assistance. So much so that redemption systems in selected supermarkets and grocery stores had to be upgraded due to exceptionally high demand.

"JAPEN Kelantan, and other government agencies, have taken on the responsibility of providing accurate and clear information through social media, face-to-face announcements, and mobile units via Input On Wheels," he told reporters after the 2025 National Day and Malaysia Day celebrations at the Wisma Persekutuan here today.

He added that the publicity campaign is running throughout the celebrations, in addition to 135 programmes organised by JAPEN Kelantan, to ensure no one misses out.

The one-off SARA Appreciation Aid, credited via MyKad starting Aug 31, benefits 22 million Malaysians with an allocation of RM2 billion.

It is available to all citizens aged 18 and above, regardless of B40, M40, or T20 categorisation, and can be redeemed cashlessly at selected grocery stores and supermarkets.
