Skim Rumah Ibu Offers Perak Landowners Eight Affordable Home Models

IPOH, Sept 6 (Bernama) -- Landowners across Perak now have the opportunity to own an affordable home through the Skim Rumah Ibu, which offers eight residential models priced between RM98,000 and RM238,000 per unit.

The founder and president of Rumah Ibu Sdn Bhd, Datuk Sr Dr Kamarul Rashdan Salleh, said the company is ready to build the most affordable homes, starting with the 540-square-foot (sq ft) Fusion model, priced at RM98,000, which comes with two bedrooms and one bathroom.

He said the pricing of models offered aligns with Rumah Ibu's commitment as a social enterprise that supports community growth and enhances quality of life by providing affordable homes with inclusive support services.

“Since its launch in February 2024, 244 landowners have registered under this scheme, and we continue to receive new inquiries, particularly for the Elation model (RM138,000). This 750-sq ft unit features three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

"Another popular model, Evolution (RM141,000), offers 755 sq ft of space with four bedrooms and two bathrooms,” he said in his speech at the state-level Structured Village Renewal Plan (RPT) Initiative launch here today.

Kamarul Rashdan said the scheme offers other models such as Compression, Impression, Impassion, Devotion, and Obsession.

The Compression model is priced at RM111,000 with 590 sq ft, three bedrooms, and one bathroom, while the Impression model costs RM148,000 with 795 sq ft, three bedrooms, and two bathrooms.

"We have the Impassion model (RM171,000; 900 sq ft; three bedrooms, two bathrooms), Devotion model (RM198,000; 1,050 sq ft; four bedrooms, three bathrooms), and Obsession model (RM238,000; 1,252 sq ft; four bedrooms, three bathrooms)," he said.

He added that the scheme targets landowners in 66 RPT areas across Perak, involving 6,995 lots, targeting the construction of 1,000 units per year.

Regarding the construction period, Kamarul Rashdan explained that the average time to complete a Rumah Ibu is between four to six months, depending on the model, weather conditions, location, and approval from local authorities.

“The Fusion model can be completed within one month, while the largest model, Obsession, takes two months due to the use of Industrialised Building System technology.

"However, the actual duration may be longer due to the local authority approval process, which typically takes between three to six months,” he said.
