PKR Members Reminded Not To Abuse Freedom Of Speech Within Party – Ramanan

SUBANG JAYA, July 8 (Bernama) -- All PKR members have been reminded not to misuse their right to freedom of expression within the party by spreading slander and false accusations.

PKR vice-president Datuk Seri R. Ramanan instead urged members to exercise that freedom with prudence and ethics.

“This is the strength and greatness of PKR and the current government – that everyone has the right to speak. But I must remind you, do not resort to slander.

“We indeed have freedom of expression, but when it is misused to slander others, that freedom is lost. There is nothing wrong with speaking up and expressing views, as long as it is done with facts and discipline,” he said.

He said this to the media after officiating the launch of The Changemakers at INTI International College Subang and a seminar organised by the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) here today.

Yesterday, a group of PKR MPs raised issues related to the judiciary and called for the establishment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate allegations surrounding judicial appointments.
