Malaysia's CPO Output Up 2.35 Pct In August, Palm Oil Exports Slips 0.29 Pct - MPOB

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 10 (Bernama) -- Malaysia’s crude palm oil (CPO) production increased by 2.35 per cent month-on-month (m-o-m) to 1.86 million tonnes in August from 1.81 million tonnes in July, according to the Malaysian Palm Oil Board (MPOB).

However, the country’s palm oil exports were marginally lower by 0.29 per cent at 1.32 million tonnes last month, compared to 1.33 million tonnes in the preceding month, MPOB reported in its Performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry, August 2025 report.

Palm kernel output rose 2.66 per cent m-o-m to 443,077 tonnes from 431,615 tonnes in July.

Meanwhile, crude palm kernel oil production dropped 4.39 per cent m-o-m to 208,655 tonnes from 218,239 tonnes previously, while palm kernel cake declined 4.63 per cent m-o-m to 227,473 tonnes from 238,511 tonnes.

Regarding inventories, MPOB said the CPO stockpile increased 5.45 per cent to 1.08 million tonnes in August compared with 1.02 million tonnes in the preceding month, while processed palm oil stocks grew 3.00 per cent m-o-m to 1.12 million tonnes from 1.09 million tonnes previously.

“This brought total palm oil inventories higher by 4.18 per cent to 2.20 million tonnes in August, from 2.11 million tonnes in July,” it said.

In the meantime, palm kernel oil exports climbed 22.91 per cent to 110,656 tonnes from 90,028 tonnes previously, while palm kernel cake exports contracted 30.82 per cent m-o-m to 175,874 tonnes from 254,239 tonnes.

Oleochemical exports fell 7.28 per cent m-o-m to 230,988 tonnes from 249,128 tonnes, and biodiesel exports shrank 37.32 per cent to 30,833 tonnes m-o-m from 49,195 tonnes.

“CPO imports in August were nil against 7,816 tonnes in July, while total palm kernel oil imports dropped 42.56 per cent m-o-m to 14,082 tonnes from 24,516 tonnes in June,” MPOB added.
