Malaysia Day 2025 Preparations At 95 Per Cent – Fahmi

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Sept 15 (Bernama) -- Preparations for the Malaysia Day 2025 celebration, to be held at the PICCA@Arena Butterworth Convention Centre tomorrow, have reached nearly 95 per cent, says Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

The chairman of the National Day and Malaysia Day 2025 (HKHM 2025) Main Committee said he had conveyed several matters to his team to be reviewed and improved during the full rehearsal last night.

“I highlighted a few things that I asked to be reviewed, perhaps improved in terms of arrangements inside the hall, but in terms of content, programme and invitations, there are no issues and everything is going smoothly,” he said when met by reporters after inspecting the implementation of a public higher education institution (IPTA) project at Politeknik Seberang Perai here today.

Also present were Communications Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa and Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) managing director Abdul Karim Fakir Ali.

The Malaysia Day 2025 celebration, themed “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni”, at PICCA tomorrow will feature a variety of exciting programmes starting from 9 am.

The celebration in the evening is scheduled to be attended by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Penang Yang Dipertua Negeri Tun Ramli Ngah Talib, Sarawak Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas representing Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, and Sabah Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Shahelmey Yahya representing Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

It will also be enlivened by performances from well-known Malaysian artistes of various backgrounds, including the nation’s Rock Queen Ella, Suki Low and Roshini Balachandran, as well as artistes from Sabah and Sarawak, namely Dabra Sia and Rezza Shah.

This year’s edition is being held in Penang, in line with the practice of rotating the celebration venue between Sabah, Sarawak and Peninsular Malaysia each year.
