KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29 (Bernama) -- Yayasan Peneraju (YP) has announced an additional 3,000 new enrolment slots for Bumiputera talents to pursue technology and professional certification programmes offered under the agency, in conjunction with the 68th National Day celebration this year.
Its chief executive officer, Ibrahim Sani, said the initiative reflects the agency’s commitment to enhancing Bumiputera competitiveness globally while expanding opportunities for skills development and lifelong learning.
“As we celebrate 68 years of independence, I am proud to see how far Malaysia has come and the talents that have shaped our development. Moving forward, we want Bumiputera talents to be at the forefront of our nation’s growth story.
“To accelerate this, we want to enrol as many talents as we can to support the economy that Malaysia is striving for,” he was quoted in a statement issued by YP.
With this announcement, YP now targets a total of 12,000 new enrolments for the financial year 2025, including more than 9,000 scholars who have registered to date.
According to the statement, the 3,000 additional slots were made possible following a significant reduction in training costs under the new financing scheme launched in February 2025.
Under its technology certification programme, YP offers more than 90 training courses, including Ethical Hacking, Cybersecurity, Enterprise AI and Data Practitioner, and ArchiMate® EA Foundation & Practitioner.
For shorter, high-demand courses such as Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence, applicants are encouraged to opt for the lower financing package of up to RM15,000.
Meanwhile, the professional certification programmes include six core options such as SAP, Certified Halal Executive, Certified Halal Internal Auditor, Digital Marketing, Lean Six Sigma, and PRINCE2. In addition, YP continues to offer its flagship accounting qualifications such as CIMA, CPA Australia, MICPA x CA ANZ, ACCA, and ICAEW.
Ibrahim said through its professional certification programme, YP provides financial assistance of up to RM150,000, covering tuition fees, examination costs, learning materials, and a monthly living allowance for the duration of study. Successful candidates will be placed at YP’s partner institutions.
He also said accounting remains the most popular field, with more than 850 students currently pursuing ACCA, including 701 under the post-SPM track. Other accounting qualifications, such as CIMA, CPA Australia, ICAEW, and MICPA x CA ANZ, also continue to attract strong interest.
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification has recorded 384 enrolments, while newer programmes such as SAP Certified Associate and Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) have each garnered over 150 applications within just one month.
“For working professionals in the finance and accounting space, particularly those in their 30s and 40s, YP strongly encourages closing the professional gap by pursuing the ‘experience pathway’ for the more popular accounting qualifications.
“We encourage talents to consult YP’s training partners to identify the most relevant pathway suited to their professional needs. YP remains committed to providing the necessary financing to support these talents in completing their chartered accountant status,” Ibrahim added.
This year alone, YP has processed over 19,000 applications across its technology and professional programmes, resulting in nearly 9,000 successful new enrolments. Of these, about 1,200 students are in accounting, with the figure expected to reach 2,000 by year-end, marking the highest accounting intake in YP’s history. More than 7,500 enrolments have been recorded for technology-related courses.
Applications for the 3,000 new slots are now open until Dec 31, 2025, or until all slots are filled. Candidates must first secure placement at one of YP’s Approved Learning and Training Institutions (ALTIs) before applying for the financing scheme.
