28/08/2025 08:27 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- The Second Meeting of the Fourth Session of the 15th Parliament, which began on July 21 and concluded today, passed 19 bills and the motion on the 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP).

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said the Dewan Rakyat also approved the motion on the Auditor-General’s Report 2/2025 and the motion on the 2023 Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM) Report, in addition to three ministerial explanations and four explanations by Special Select Committees that were tabled.

In addition, the Dewan Rakyat passed amendments to the Standing Orders to enhance the executive’s accountability to the Dewan Rakyat, while Special Select Committees were elevated to the status of Permanent Select Committees.

Meanwhile, Johari expressed hope that Members of Parliament would be able to share knowledge, experiences and best practices during the 46th ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) General Assembly, which will be held from Sept 17 to 22.

He said the AIPA General Assembly, which would bring together parliamentarians from across ASEAN, is the best platform to strengthen regional cooperation, particularly in the legislative field.

The Dewan Rakyat sitting was then adjourned sine die.
