KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 26 (Bernama) -- KPJ Healthcare Bhd (KPJ Healthcare) has entered into a strategic partnership with Philips and LAC Medical Supplies Sdn Bhd (LAC Medical Supplies) to implement an Enterprise Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) across its network of 30 hospitals nationwide.

KPJ Healthcare said the enterprise imaging (PACS) solution, from Philips and supplied and implemented by LAC Medical Supplies, will connect all KPJ hospitals on a single imaging platform designed to support secure access.

The company said the solution would enable collaboration between clinicians to support diagnostic efficiency and allow integration with the KPJ Care patient application, giving patients convenient and secure access to their medical imaging results.

“The project is based on an outcome-driven model, aligning technology investment to measurable clinical and operational results while accelerating the adoption of advanced healthcare solutions across KPJ’s hospital network,” it said in a statement today

KPJ Healthcare president and managing director Chin Keat Chyuan said the initiative marked a milestone in the KPJ Health System transformation journey, moving it towards a more connected and patient-centred model of care.

“By linking medical imaging across all 30 hospitals, with plans to integrate it into the KPJ Care app, we are enhancing patient access, supporting clinical collaboration and building a system that is more efficient and responsive.

“This is an investment not only in technology, but also in the quality, safety and overall experience of care we deliver to our patients and communities,” he said.

LAC Medical Supplies chief executive officer Liew Yoon Poh said the company was proud to support KPJ’s enterprise imaging programme as part of its digital transformation journey, adding that the subscription-based approach was designed to deliver measurable value in terms of clinical efficiency, patient experience and operational performance.

Meanwhile, Philips chief innovation officer and chief business leader Dr Shez Partovi said the platform was designed for speed, security and scalability, enabling real-time image access, AI-enabled diagnostics and streamlined radiology workflows to support better clinical decision-making and outcomes.

The signing ceremony, held at Menara KPJ today, marked a significant milestone in KPJ Healthcare’s digital transformation under the KPJ Health System, with full implementation targeted within 24 months.

KPJ Healthcare said the partnership underscored its commitment to innovation under the KPJ Health System, where clinical care, education and research converge to strengthen Malaysia’s private healthcare landscape.
