KUANTAN, Aug 20 (Bernama) -- The Industry Nexus POLYCC (INDex POLYCC) 2025 programme can serve as a platform to bridge the gap between the nation’s educational output and industry needs, said Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) secretary-general Datuk Dr Anesee Ibrahim.

He said the programme, which brought together lecturers and students from all polytechnic institutions and community colleges, as well as industry players, also served as a catalyst for innovation in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through a collaborative and forward-looking approach.

“Its implementation is also expected to have a comprehensive impact on students, lecturers, institutions, industry and the community.

“This programme is also able to help students build self-confidence, competitiveness and marketability,” he said at the INDex POLYCC Closing Ceremony at Sultan Haji Ahmad Shah Polytechnic (POLISAS) here today.

INDex POLYCC 2025, held over two days beginning yesterday, featured a variety of activities, including dialogue sessions with industry, industry briefings, face-to-face pitching judging, a Centre of Technology (COT) exhibition, career briefings, open interviews and a student entrepreneur showcase.

In a separate ceremony, Anesee said the establishment of the Learning and Assessment Centre at Universiti Malaysia Pahang Al-Sultan Abdullah (UMPSA) was expected to strengthen the higher education ecosystem and showcase the university’s readiness to lead digital transformation and broaden access to lifelong learning.

“The establishment of the centre has succeeded in making UMPSA a new benchmark for flexible and digital education in the country, while also strengthening its relationships with industry,” he said.

He said this in his speech at the launch of the Quality Verification Centre (QVC), the Flexible Learning and Micro-Credential Centre (FLEXMC), and the East Coast Zone APEL Assessment Centre at UMPSA Pekan today.
