KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- Former Utusan Malaysia entertainment journalist Mohd Rosli Manah, 58, died at the Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin Hospital in Kajang at 12.59 pm today, due to kidney complications, diabetes, and tuberculosis.

This was confirmed by his wife Asma Ghani, 51, when contacted by Bernama, today.

“My late husband had been admitted to the hospital for more than two months. He breathed his last today, with me and his colleagues by his side,” she said.

The funeral prayers were held at the Pekan Kajang Jamek Mosque. He was laid to rest at the Sungai Kantan Muslim Cemetery.

Bernama had previously reported that Mohd Rosli, who was also former editor of URTV, an entertainment magazine, had been suffering from diabetes for the past seven years. His condition became critical after failing to take his medication as prescribed, resulting in a brain infection.

The brain infection left him with difficulty speaking, and in need of further treatment.

Mohd Rosli began his career at Utusan Melayu (Malaysia) Berhad in 1993, and served for more than 25 years as a journalist and entertainment editor, including heading the Mangga Online.

He turned to odd jobs, including selling food to support his family, after the newspaper ceased operation in 2019.
