KUALA LUMPUR, June 6 (Bernama) -- The Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) is currently reviewing two investigation papers involving former Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, which were received from the police on Thursday.

Attorney General Tan Sri Mohd Dusuki Mokhtar said no decision had been made so far as the AGC required some time to examine the documents.

“Once the review is completed by the AGC, a decision will be made accordingly. Let us study the matter thoroughly,” he said via WhatsApp to Bernama here today.

Earlier today, Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) director Datuk M. Kumar said two investigation papers involving Azam had been referred to the AGC for further action.

On Wednesday, Kumar said the police had recorded Azam’s statement under Section 112 of the Criminal Procedure Code to assist in the investigation.

He said the first case involved an investigation into a Bloomberg.com article that allegedly contained defamatory statements regarding the shareholding of Velocity Capital Partner Berhad.

The second case concerns allegations of abuse of power and criminal intimidation involving businessman Albert Tei.
