ANKARA, Oct 11 (Bernama-Sputnik/RIA Novosti) -- Turkiye's Foreign Ministry, Defence Ministry, and intelligence services are discussing the details of a possible deployment of Turkish troops to Gaza, after which the proposal will be sent to the parliament for consideration, Abdullah Guler, leader of the parliamentary group of Turkiye's ruling Justice and Development Party, said on Saturday, reported Sputnik/RIA Novosti.
"The details are being worked out by our Foreign Ministry, Ministry of National Defence, and National Intelligence Organisation (MİT). Issues concerning both the mutual ceasefire and the subsequent measures to be taken in Gaza and the region have not yet been brought to our attention," Guler told the TRT Haber state broadcaster.
After working out the details, the president's decision to send Turkish troops to Gaza may be submitted to parliament for consideration, he added.
"The framework of this agreement will be determined by the Foreign Ministry and the Ministry of National Defence, taking into account the specifics, situation, and timing, after which a proposal will be put forward and an assessment will be conducted. It will then be sent as a proposal from the president to the Grand National Assembly of Turkiye. It is too early, we are at the very beginning of events," Guler said.
