Jojo's Fighting Spirit An Example To All Youth - PM Anwar

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 8 (Bernama) -- Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim described young national Muay Thai exponent Muhammad Johan Ghazali Zulfikar, or better known as Jojo, as a symbol of determination and high fighting spirit that is worthy to be followed by all Malaysians.

Anwar said Jojo’s success as a One Championship fighter in the international stage had brought glory to the country and reflected the true values of a young Malaysian who is disciplined and not easily deterred in chasing his dream.

"Even better, Jojo has been actively speaking up against bullying and participated in awareness campaigns to inspire youth to build self confidence, resilience  and a positive spirit in daily life,” He posted on Facebook today, adding that with continued support, he hoped more young athletes would be nurtured and bring glory to Malaysia.

He also quoted former United States President John F Kennedy - ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country - which he said instilled a love for the country and a collective spirit to build the country and its society.

“Congratulations Jojo on the success and commitment shown to the country and its people. Carry on your efforts to shine and inspire the young generation who love and want to contribute to the country,” he posted, together with several photos of Jojo’s delegation during their visit today.

Jojo won a Technical Knockout (KO) against Moroccan Zakaria El Jamari in just two minutes and 10 seconds in the flyweight category of the ONE Fight Night 35 in Lumpinee Staduim, Thailand in early September.
