PAFA Takes Lesson From Lim Teong Kim's Case

IPOH, Aug 12 (Bernama) -- The Perak Football Association (PAFA) says former Perak FC head coach Datuk Lim Teong Kim’s successful salary claim is an important lesson not only for PAFA but also for all football associations and clubs nationwide.

PAFA president Datuk Mohd Azhar Jamaluddin said the association respects the decision of the Industrial Court and upholds the principle that all parties must adhere to established legal processes.

“Financial management and the team’s operating budget must not be taken lightly. Expenditure must be managed prudently, in a controlled manner and with integrity to ensure the team’s continuity and stability.

“PAFA hopes that Perak FC, through XOX (Berhad), can resolve this case wisely and as soon as possible, particularly in relation to claims by former Perak FC players, so that all parties receive due justice,” he said in a statement posted on the Perak FA’s official Facebook page.

He said PAFA does not wish to dwell on the matter for too long and is now focusing on rebuilding the team to meet the hopes and aspirations of the state’s young players and supporters across the country.

On Aug 10, Bernama reported that the Industrial Court had ordered Perak FC Sdn Bhd to pay RM1.04 million in compensation to Lim following the management’s decision to terminate his contract earlier than the stipulated period.

Court chairman J. Paramalingam, in a 60-page judgment, said Lim was entitled to compensation for the remaining period of his fixed-term employment contract that had yet to expire.
