KOTA KINABALU, July 2 (Bernama) -- Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor today launched the State Disaster Command Centre (SDCC), the first of its kind in Malaysia, funded by the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).

He said the centre is equipped with the latest information and communications technology, including video conferencing systems and a comprehensive database for the collection and analysis of disaster-related information.

“The centre, which cost RM750,000, took eight months to complete.

“Jointly developed by the State Disaster Management Committee and NADMA, the SDCC will ensure quicker and more coordinated responses during disasters,” he said here.

He said the SDCC, located on Level 4, Block A of Menara Kinabalu, will serve as an integrated platform to coordinate the actions of security and rescue agencies, NGOs, and research bodies during disasters.
