MAKKAH, June 8 (Bernama-SPA) -- Saudi Arabia’s General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has called on pilgrims to observe preventive health and safety measures to ensure a smooth and secure Tawaf experience during this year’s Hajj season, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
Among the guidelines issued are staying hydrated to prevent dehydration, taking rest when fatigued to avoid heat exhaustion, avoiding overcrowded areas for personal and collective safety, using umbrellas to guard against sunstroke and wearing face masks in crowded places to reduce infection risks.
The advisory comes as millions of pilgrims begin arriving in Makkah for one of the world’s largest religious gatherings, often taking place under intense summer heat.
In a related development, the Presidency has installed 12 high-resolution, weather-resistant 3D screens to enhance awareness and guidance services for pilgrims throughout the Hajj period.
Positioned strategically at entrances, exits, courtyards and surrounding roads of the Grand Mosque, the screens operate 24/7, displaying essential information and spiritual messages.
A technical team manages the content remotely from a central control room to ensure accuracy and quality.
The initiative reflects the Presidency’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies in support of pilgrims and their religious duties, in line with the directives of the Kingdom’s leadership.
