IPOH, Sept 17 (Bernama) -- A 71-year-old vegetable farmer from Cameron Highlands is appealing to the public for financial assistance to help cover the high medical costs for his two ailing children.
Law Sang said his 40-year-old daughter is battling both mental health issues and stage four breast cancer, while his 32-year-old son suffers from brain and neck injuries sustained in a road accident two years ago.
“I need around RM10,000 every month to cover their medical treatments and care.
“In addition to that, I have to pay RM2,600 every two months just to rent an ambulance to take them for treatment at Raja Permaisuri Bainun Hospital in Ipoh,” he told a press conference here today.
Law said he earns about RM4,000 a month from cultivating vegetables on a small 0.8-hectare plot, an income that falls far short of meeting his family’s medical needs.
Meanwhile, Perak Barisan Nasional (BN) Complaints and Service Centre chief Mohd Rawi Abdullah said those who wish to contribute to Law’s cause may contact him directly at 019-5168338 for further information.
