KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- National women's doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah lived up to expectations when they marched into the semi-finals of the Hong Kong Open after brushing aside compatriots Go Pei Kee-Teo Mei Xing today.
World number two Pearly-Thinaah had no problems sailing to a 21,12, 21-15 quarter-final win over Pei Kee-Mei Xing in just 31 minutes at the Hong Kong Coliseum.
World Championships runners-up Pearly-Thinaah will face Yifan-Zhang Shuxian in the last four after the Chinese pair outplayed Taiwan's Hsieh Pei Shan-Hung En Tzu 21-12, 21-7.
Meanwhile, national men's doubles pair Wan Arif Wan Junaidi-Yap Roy King fought for over an hour before going down 14-21, 22-20, 16-21 to India's Chirag Shetty-Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in the last eight.
