SHAH ALAM, Sept 12 (Bernama) -- The Menteri Besar Selangor Incorporated (MBI) Foundation today presented laptops to 100 Selangor-born children from low-income (B40) families studying in institutions of higher learning (IPTs).

MBI Foundation head Ahmad Azri Zainal Nor said the contribution for the first series of 2025 is aimed at facilitating the learning process of students from this group, with the overall allocation amounting to RM150,000.

He said the recipients were also given a dongle unit and a subscriber identity module (SIM) card with a capacity of 30GB free of charge every month for a year.

"The contribution, through the Selangor Internet Data (DIS) programme, which was supervised by MBI, involved an allocation of RM500,000 for 3,000 students.

"Hopefully, all the recipients will use the contributions wisely to help them complete their respective academic assignments,” he told reporters after presenting the contributions at the MBI Headquarters here today.

Ahmad Azri said they decided on the contribution for the IPT students this year after their previous contributions focused on village heads, fishermen and other targeted groups.

"We hope this initiative not only enhances the students’ learning process but also helps to improve the country's quality of education,” he said.
