ISKANDAR PUTERI, Sept 4 (Bernama) -- More than 1,000 families gathered at Eco Galleria, Iskandar Puteri over the long Merdeka weekend in support of a vital cause under the ‘Sihat Malaysia 2025: Mission 1000 – Family Hearts for Little Lives’ initiative, aimed at improving neonatal care for premature babies.
Held from Aug 29 to Sept 1, the four-day event featured a dynamic mix of health-inspired activities, family bonding experiences, and festive celebrations, while raising funds to procure an Intensive Care Infant Incubator for the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Hospital Sultan Ismail (HSI).
Participation fees of RM30 per family group was fully channelled to the cause, with a total of RM42,950 collected.
The funds were presented to Cheah Mun Wei, Co-Founder of the Pregnancy, Breastfeeding, Parenting Group, during a mock cheque presentation ceremony on Sept 1 by Divisional General Manager, Eco South Phan Yan Chan.
The funds will be banked into Alpro Pharmacy under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, which will manage the procurement and direct delivery of the incubator to HSI. Any funding shortfall will be fully covered by EcoWorld.
“At EcoWorld, we believe in creating lasting impact through initiatives that touch lives. Through Mission 1,000, we are not only bringing families together but also helping premature babies receive the critical medical care they urgently need,” said Phan.
“This initiative forms part of our AnakAnakMalaysia (AAM) campaign this year, themed Sihat Malaysia, which celebrates unity, wellness, and community spirit — encouraging Malaysians to live healthier and stronger together,” he added.
Among the highlights of the event were the Time Attack Family Challenge featuring eight interactive stations, the Parent-Child Healthy Cooking Contest, an Eco Bucket Drum Workshop, Shrink Art & Face Painting, and an Amateur Talent Challenge.
Attendees also enjoyed the vibrant Merdeka Fiesta Market, live busking performances, and the festive Malaysia Vibes Night, all of which contributed to an atmosphere of joy, national pride, and community bonding.
Sihat Malaysia 2025 is a flagship programme under EcoWorld’s AnakAnakMalaysia 2025 campaign in conjunction with Merdeka and Malaysia Day, reflecting the Group’s broader commitment to building healthier, stronger, and more connected communities.
By combining wellness, family fun, and philanthropy, Mission 1,000 stands as a testament to the power of collective action in making a meaningful difference to the lives of Malaysia’s most vulnerable — its premature newborns.
EcoWorld is a public-listed Malaysian property developer with over 11,000 acres of landbank across the Klang Valley, Iskandar Malaysia, Penang and Negeri Sembilan, and a total estimated gross development value of RM94 billion.
