Muslim Nations Must Unite To Defend The Rights Of Palestinians - Amanah

02/09/2025 08:27 PM

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 2 (Bernama) -- Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) has called on Islamic nations, especially the Gulf nations and Muslim member states of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO), to unite and fearlessly defend the rights of the Palestinians.

Its president, Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu, said in a Facebook post today that Muslim nations should not let only a few countries, such as Iran and Yemen, bear the burden of fighting against the Zionists.

He said it is extremely regrettable that some Gulf states and NATO Muslim member states continue to maintain trade and diplomatic ties with Israel, even serving as transit routes and suppliers of essential goods, indirectly strengthening the Zionists’ position.

“Ironically, there are times when they unite to attack Yemen, yet fail to come together against Israel, which is backed by major powers like the United States and Europe,” he said, adding that Europeans and non-Muslim communities all over the world have been more vocal in defending the human rights of the Palestinian people.

“…compared to some Islamic countries that merely condemn Israel on the international stage while maintaining close ties with the Zionists,” he said.

Mohamad, who is also the Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, said Amanah views the continuous atrocities of the Israeli Zionist regime in carrying out genocide against the Palestinians with grave concern.

He said the ruthless assaults on hospitals, mosques, churches, and civilians seeking food aid clearly reveal the barbaric nature of the Zionists, who have abandoned all regard for humanity.

“Amanah will continue to stand firmly with the Palestinians, alongside the voice of truth and with all nations opposing oppression. This is a religious duty, and it is a matter of humanity,” he added.
