KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 30 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia #QuranHour 2025 event held today carried the theme ‘Merdeka dengan Rasa’, focusing on three surah (chapters): al-Saff, al-Balad, and Ali Imran.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Religious Affairs) Datuk Dr Mohd Na’im Mokhtar attended the programme at the National Mosque.
About 3,000 individuals participated in the one-hour session, held in conjunction with the 68th National Day celebrations, to reflect and contemplate (tadabbur) on the three chapters.
A total of 1,000 people from various districts in KELANTAN participated in the Malaysia #QuranHour 2025 programme at Masjid Jamek Al-Sultan Ismail Petra, Kubang Kerian.
Chairman of Kelantan Rumah Ngaji Association, Datuk Adnan Hashim, said the initiative to foster love for the Quran was also held at various locations and conducted online.
He said the recitation and tadabbur session of the three chapters were led by reciters and scholars, adding that this year’s Rumah Ngaji personality, Dr Sharifah Mastura Syed Mohamad, was also present.
Malaysia #QuranHour 2025 coordinator in PENANG, Nor Hayati Yusof, said more than 4,000 individuals participated in the programme physically at Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Pulau Pinang (PPAPP) in Seberang Jaya as well as online.
“We reflected on and appreciated Surah al-Saff, al-Balad, and Ali Imran, selected this year for a simultaneous recitation from noon to 1 pm,” she said, adding that members of the Penang Rumah Ngaji, mosque congregants, students, and civil servants joined the session.
More than 300 people enlivened the TERENGGANU Malaysia #QuranHour 2025 at Masjid Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA).
UniSZA Islamic Centre director Mohd Sayuti Yahya said the programme, which the university hosted for the third time, will continue in the future to enable young people, particularly the university’s students, to appreciate the real meaning of independence with the Quran as their primary guide.
