SPNB Completes 11,307 Rumah Mesra Rakyat Units In Kelantan

MACHANG, Aug 28 (Bernama) -- Syarikat Perumahan Negara Berhad (SPNB) has reinforced its commitment to affordable housing with the completion of 11,307 Rumah Mesra Rakyat (RMR) units in Kelantan to date.

Its chairman Prof Datuk Dr Mohd Azmi Mohd Lila said more than 73,000 RMR units have been built nationwide since the programme was introduced.

“Of that number, 537 units are located in the Machang parliamentary constituency, including 81 units in the Temangan state constituency.

“This achievement demonstrates SPNB’s continued commitment to supporting the national housing agenda under the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (KPKT),” he told reporters at the handing over of keys and offer letters for RMR units in Kampung Banggol Kemian here today.

Kelantan Deputy Menteri Besar Datuk Dr Mohamed Fadzli Hassan handed over 11 offer letters to eligible recipients.

Mohd Azmi said SPNB has been tasked with building 5,450 RMR units nationwide this year, including 855 units in Kelantan.

“So far, 526 units have been successfully completed in this state, while the remainder are under construction. Each RMR house has a floor area of 750 square feet, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms, priced at RM75,000.

“The government provides a subsidy of RM20,000, while the remaining RM55,000 is an interest-free loan repayable over a period of 16 years,” he said.

He also encouraged those interested in the programme to apply online via SPNB’s official portal at www.spnb.com.my.
