NILAI, Aug 24 (Bernama) -- The Negeri Sembilan MADANI Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 concluded today, drawing over 100,000 visitors to the three-day event at Dataran Nilai here.
Digital Ministry secretary-general Fabian Bigar said the programme, themed 'Digital Across Generations, Empowering Communities' and led by the Digital Ministry, received an encouraging response after surpassing its target of 25,000 visitors.
He added the ministry received support from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) through the Performance Coordination Unit (PACU) as the main secretariat, as well as from the Negeri Sembilan government as the host, contributing to the success of the programme.
“On the first day, the number of visitors reached 24,000, on the second day 77,000, and on the final day it exceeded 100,000. Thank you and congratulations to all parties involved in making the Negeri Sembilan PMR a success.
“Interestingly, the PMR here offered many free direct services, such as free haircuts, health and dental check-ups, as well as various engaging activities provided by 26 ministry agencies,” he told Bernama.
The three-day event provided a platform for departments and agencies under the ministry to engage directly with the public while showcasing various initiatives and digital services.
Earlier, Fabian presented the awards for the best Negeri Sembilan PMR 2025 booths, with the Ministry of Health (MOH) taking first place, PACU second, and the Ministry of Defence third.
Meanwhile, the Negeri Sembilan Health Department (JKNNS) booth was bustling with some 1,000 visitors who came for free health check-ups during the programme, which began on Friday.
JKNNS Non-Communicable Disease Control Unit principal assistant director Dr Wan Nur Adilla Wan Alias said the programme entered its third day today, drawing large crowds eager for free health screenings.
“We provided screening for diabetes, blood sugar, cholesterol, high blood pressure and advice on BMI (Body Mass Index) to help people achieve a healthy weight,” she said.
Dr Wan Nur Adilla said JKNNS also offered an advisory service on medicines, raised awareness of the risks of vaping and cigarettes, and ran a registration counter for the Healthcare Scheme for the B40 Group.
She said some 900 staff members, including doctors from health clinics across the state, were involved in the programme to ensure the smooth running of the screenings.
Visitor M. Sathiya, 36, said she had initially come to the programme to shop but was drawn to the JKNNS booth upon learning about the free health screenings.
Sathiya from Seremban said that such screening programmes should continue to be held, as they provide a convenient way for people to get health checks while on the move.
Maziah Rahman, 47, suggested that these programmes be continued every month in rural areas to make it easier for local residents, especially the elderly, to have regular health checks.
