MELAKA, May 5 (Bernama) -- Melaka FC's preparations to return to competing in the country's elite league, the Super League, are getting more convincing when the complete list of players will be finalised later this month.
Team owner Datuk Nur Azmi Ahmad said the list includes at least three loan players from Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) in addition to 12 existing players to form a strong team.
"We have already started the interview and selection of outside players, so it will be finalised before the end of May as training is expected to start at the end of this month.
"Meanwhile, technically, we are actually ready and have reached 90 per cent, including the coaching staff such as coach K Devan together with Asri Ninggal and Mazlan Wahid, which have been retained," he said when met by reporters at the Open House he organised last night.
After being eliminated from the Super League competition due to various factors including salary payment issues, Melaka FC rose to show their best performance when they emerged as champions of the A1 Semi Pro League for the 2024/2025 season, thus being seen as the best preparation for the Sang Kancil squad to return to the Super League.
