KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 30 (Bernama) -- The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) have new leads in their efforts to locate and bring home businessman Datuk Seri Muhammad Adlan Berhan, the son-in-law of former Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, said Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said the latest development was the result of cooperation between PDRM and Interpol.
“What I can say is that our cooperation with Interpol is ongoing, and indeed, we have discovered several new leads.
“I will not go into detail as it could interfere with our investigation, but we have identified several new clues that will aid our efforts to locate and bring him back,” he said when winding up debate on the Supply Bill (Budget) 2026 at the policy stage for the Home Ministry (KDN) in the Dewan Rakyat today.
He was responding to interjections from RSN Rayer (PH-Jelutong) and Ramkarpal Singh (PH-Bukit Gelugor), who both asked about the status of efforts to trace and repatriate the businessman, who is currently wanted by the authorities.
Elaborating further, Saifuddin Nasution said that Interpol has been officially notified regarding the wanted individual, and the matter has been confirmed by the international enforcement body.
“I have personally met its head. Our authorities, particularly the police in this case, are making every possible effort by leveraging P2P (Police-to-Police) cooperation and Interpol’s network.
“That is the proper process for bringing back any wanted individual to face legal proceedings,” he said.
Previously, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) reported that it was tracking down Muhammad Adlan and a lawyer, Mansoor Saat, to assist in investigations into the alleged misappropriation of a project involving the registration, recruitment and storage of foreign workers’ biometric data for a ministry.
Yesterday, MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki stated that the investigation involving the fugitive businessman has been completed and is now awaiting further action.
