KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 17 (Bernama) -- The International Greentech & Eco Products Exhibition and Conference Malaysia (IGEM) 2025 has reaffirmed its position as a key regional platform for green technology and innovation, particularly among micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Acting chief executive and chief operating officer of the Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC) Saiful Adib Abdul Munaff said the event featured 412 participating companies, with half being local MSMEs.
“IGEM is a vital avenue for MSMEs to showcase their technologies globally and this year saw increased participation from local players,” he said after an appreciation ceremony here today.
The ceremony was officiated by Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability (NRES) secretary-general Datuk Dr Ching Thoo Kim.
IGEM 2025 drew more than 55,000 visitors over three days, surpassing its 50,000 target. Co-organised by NRES and MGTC, the event began Tuesday and is projected to generate RM5.5 billion in business potential.
Running alongside it, the Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit (KLSS) attracted 477 participants from 300 organisations across 17 countries.
Saiful Adib said the exhibition boosted public interest in the green agenda and saw growing participation from local MSMEs actively developing green technology solutions.
He added that this year’s IGEM was the largest to date, featuring eight international pavilions. Organisers are finalising the total business value, which has reportedly surpassed the RM5.5 billion target, with the official figure to be announced soon.
The next IGEM is scheduled for Oct 7–9, 2026, with continued focus on renewable energy, green transport and climate technology.
“We aim to build on this momentum by attracting more local exhibitors as part of Malaysia’s push towards net-zero carbon emissions by 2050,” he added.
