02/08/2025 05:20 PM

SUBANG JAYA, Aug 2 (Bernama) -- The Subang Jaya Medical Centre (SJMC) today launched a new catherisation laboratory (Cath Lab) and named it in honour of Datuk Dr Anuar Masduki, one of Malaysia’s most respected cardiologists and physicians.

SJMC Chief Executive Officer and Asia OneHealthcare Regional Chief Executive Officer Bryan Lin said the ceremony, graced by Sultan of Selangor Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, was also held to mark SJMC’s 40th Anniversary.

Bryan said Dr Anuar Masduki, who was a pioneering member of SJMC’s founding medical team, had also served as Sultan of Selangor’s personal cardiologist.

“This moment is deeply meaningful for us at SJMC and for all who knew the late Datuk Setia Dr Anuar Masduki, a visionary and pioneer in cardiology, whose dedication, wisdom, and compassion left a lasting mark on Malaysian healthcare.

“As a peer, colleague and doctor, he was humble, reliable and always placed patients first in their time of need. Naming this facility in his honour is our way of preserving his legacy and recognising the values he lived by, values that continue to inspire us at SJMC and beyond,” said Brayan in his speech.

Also present were Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin, and Tengku Panglima Raja of Selangor, Tengku Ahmad Shah Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah.

Bryan said the newly launched cardiac cath lab began its operations in May following an investment of RM14 million.

“It expands our ability to deliver personalised care through the diagnosis and treatment of complex heart conditions using minimally invasive techniques, including advanced angioplasty and electrophysiology.

“Today, we have doubled the number of patients we diagnose and treat. Equipped with the latest flex-arm technology, it enables us to perform a wider range of procedures, shorten recovery times, and improve patient outcomes,” he said.
