PUTRAJAYA, July 26 (Bernama) -- The MADANI Debate Academy will be established in stages at all fully residential schools (SBP) nationwide to enhance students’ language proficiency and public speaking skills in preparation for future editions of the Prime Minister’s Cup Debate Competition.
Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek said the academy is not merely a training centre, but also a platform to guide students in articulating and expressing their views with confidence, maturity and courtesy.
“This academy will focus on training and intellectual empowerment, sharpening critical argumentation and providing continuous practice to ensure that our students, particularly in the 72 SBPs, have equal access and opportunities to benefit from this initiative.
“This will be one of our main agendas in the lead-up to the next edition of the Prime Minister’s Cup Debate Competition,” she told reporters after attending the 50th Prime Minister’s Cup Debate Finals here today.
The competition saw Sekolah Menengah Agama Persekutuan Kajang retain their title in the Malay-language category, while Sekolah Sultan Alam Shah, Putrajaya defeated Sekolah Menengah Sains Muar in the English-language category.
Winners of both categories received RM5,000 in cash, trophies, certificates, and iPads.
