2,500 Take Part In MAPPA XX 2025 Sabah Run

KOTA KINABALU, July 12 (Bernama) -- A total of 2,500 participants from the public service and locals took part in the 20th Larian Majlis Amanat Perdana Perkhidmatan Awam (MAPPA XX) 2025 Run for the Sabah region at Likas Stadium here tonight.

The Public Service Department in a statement said the run, flagged off by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, marks the fourth leg of MAPPA XX 2025, following earlier events in Kuantan (Pahang), Batu Kawan (Penang) and Kuching (Sarawak).

“This programme reflects a shared commitment that a healthy lifestyle is a collective responsibility that cuts across departments and communities, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia MADANI, which emphasises the values of well-being and togetherness,” the statement said.

The run, which began at 7.30 pm, featured two running categories, 5 kilometres (km) and 10 km.

It was organised in collaboration with the Sabah government and Sabah Federal Secretary’s Office, with support from the Sabah Youth and Sports Ministry, Sabah Sports Board and Kota Kinabalu City Hall.

“The programme also serves as a catalyst for strengthening inter-agency cooperation among federal, state, and private sectors to ensure continued commitment towards sustainable national development through a people-centric health approach and the spirit of national unity,” the statement also said.

In addition to the run, various activities were also held, including government agency exhibitions and a mobile MADANI Rahmah Sales programme, offering daily essentials at special discounted prices for the participants.
