KUANTAN, July 11 (Bernama) -- The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) of Pahang seized over 1,100 tanks of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) worth an estimated RM171,687, from a premises in Jalan Manchis, Bentong under Ops Gasak yesterday.
Its director, Jezlily Jamaluddin said the operation was carried out by seven enforcement personnel following a month-long intelligence gathering on the premises, which is suspected to be carrying out wholesale LPG sales without a valid licence.
“Based on the documents presented, the premises owner’s LPG wholesale licence had expired,” he said in a statement today.
He added that preliminary investigations also found that the LPG was supposed to be sent to a premises in Mentakab, but was instead sent to a different address than the one stated in the invoice.
Jezlily said they also seized three lorries, valued at an estimated RM450,200, that were parked in the premises and believed to be for delivery and storage, as well as related documents.
