KUALA LUMPUR, July 7 (Bernama) -- Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi has congratulated three young Malaysians who clinched first place at the Tuft & Gatsby International Barber Battle, held in conjunction with the Bali Barber Expo 2025 in Indonesia recently.

Representing Malaysia, Muhamad Aiman Ms Saad, Muhammad Faikandar and Muhammad Nazzim Safian outshone competitors from 15 other countries to emerge as champions in the Tag Team Barber Battle category.

Ahmad Zahid, who is also the Rural and Regional Development Minister, said the victory reflects the ability of Malaysian youths from rural areas to excel on the international stage through skill, style and self-confidence.

“What makes this achievement even more meaningful is that Aiman and Faikandar were participants of the Income Enhancement Programme under the Rural and Regional Development Ministry, held recently in Kuala Kangsar, Perak,” he said in a Facebook post today.

He also expressed pride in the extraordinary talent shown by Malaysian youths, who have proven that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) skills such as barbering are no longer just an alternative but a viable career path.

“Keep shining! And if you have time…how about dropping by my office for a haircut?” he quipped.
