Tokyo To Host International Road Race Featuring Elite Cyclists On July 13

KUALA LUMPUR, July 4 (Bernama) -- The Grand Cycle Tokyo Executive Committee has announced that "The Road Race Tokyo Tama 2025" will take place on July 13, bringing elite international and domestic cycling talent to the streets of Tokyo’s Tama area.

The headline event, the elite men’s road race, is certified as a Continental Circuit Class 2 event by the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI). It will feature 102 riders from 17 teams, including eight international and nine Japanese teams.

The race will be held on a legacy course in the Tama area, used during a major international sporting event in 2021, and is expected to draw significant attention from fans eager to witness top-tier racing up close. The event will also include a women’s race and para-cycling competitions, broadening its appeal and inclusivity.

Among the international teams participating are Solution Tech Vini Fantini (Italy), Terengganu Cycling Team (Malaysia), Roojai Insurance (Thailand), Wanty-Nippo-Re Uz (Belgium), Victoria Sports Pro Cycling (Philippines), HKSI Pro Cycling Team (Hong Kong), Euro CyclingTrips-CCN (Guam), and Atom 6 Bikes - Decca Continental Team (Australia).

According to a statement, the participation of Solution Tech Vini Fantini, including Yukiya Arashiro, one of Japan's top cyclists, is particularly noteworthy.

The Japanese lineup includes Team Bridgestone Cycling, JCL Team Ukyo, Kinan Racing Team, Matrix Powertag, Victoire Hiroshima, Shimano Racing, VC Fukuoka, Aisan Racing Team, and Utsunomiya Blitzen.

To meet the growing demand among cycling enthusiasts and international viewers, the event will be broadcast online, allowing fans worldwide to tune in and witness the action in real time.
