KUALA LUMPUR, July 31 (Bernama) -- The 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim reflects the government's firm commitment to realising the aspirations of the MADANI Economy to improve the standard of living of the people and restructure the country's economy comprehensively.

In a statement today, the MADANI Backbenchers Club (BBC) said 13MP builds on the foundation laid by the government over the past two years and outlines a clear development path rooted in social justice and economic competitiveness.

"The MADANI Government's data-based approach in formulating policies, as implemented in the 13MP, is an important shift towards more transparent and accountable governance," read the statement.

The 13MP, themed “Redesigning Development”, outlines three core development pillars for the 2026–2030 period,  namely high and sustainable income, quality and inclusive living, and a sustainable environment.

The BBC also welcomed the government's concern on addressing urban-rural disparities,  and ensuring that the benefits of development are distributed fairly to all citizens regardless of race, religion or geographical location.

In line with its role as a government supporter in the Dewan Rakyat, the BBC reaffirmed its commitment to continue to play an active role in monitoring and evaluating the implementation of 13MP to ensure it remains on course and true to its original objectives.

"The BBC is confident that under the leadership of the Prime Minister, Malaysia remains on the right track to emerge not only as a high-income country by 2030 but also as a society grounded in human values and enjoying a quality life," it said.
