CPO Stocks Fall 13.3 Per Cent In December

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 10 -- Total palm oil stocks fell 1.4 per cent to 2.039 million tonnes in December last year compared with 2.070 million tonnes in November, the Malaysian Palm Oil Board reported Tuesday.

Of the total, stocks of crude palm oil declined 13.3 per cent to 1.064 million tonnes compared with 1.228 million tonnes in November while stocks of processed palm oil rose 15.8 per cent to 974,947 tonnes.

CPO output fell 8.16 per cent to 1.494 million tonnes against 1.627 million tonnes in November, the MPOB said when releasing the performance of the Malaysian Palm Oil Industry for December 2011.

Palm kernel output dropped 5.2 per cent to 381,942 tonnes, crude palm kernel oil eased 4.9 per cent to 189,812 while palm kernel cake decreased 5.1 per cent to 210,336.

Exports of palm oil in December fell 4.4 per cent to 1.589 million tonnes, while offtake of palm kernel cake decreased 17.6 per cent to 228,647 tonnes, MPOB said.
