MIMOS Subsidiary, HAVELSAN Ink Deal To Advance AI-driven Deep-tech Ecosystem

KUALA LUMPUR, April 23 (Bernama) -- MIMOS Bhd’s strategic commercialisation arm MIMOS International Venture Sdn Bhd (MIVSB) and Turkish software and systems company HAVELSAN have inked an agreement to collaborate in advancing globally competitive deep-tech capabilities through a foundational artificial intelligence (AI) ecosystem.

MIMOS said in a statement that the signing, which took place during the Defence Services Asia (DSA) and National Security (NATSEC) Asia 2026 exhibition, reflects the strengthening strategic ties between Malaysia and Türkiye.

It said the collaboration is expected to support Malaysia’s ambition to become a regional hub for advanced technologies and digital transformation, particularly in national security and smart infrastructure domains.

At the same time, the partnership contributes to HAVELSAN’s long-term strategic expansion in the Asia-Pacific region, enabling deeper regional engagement through locally anchored capability development and sustainable collaboration models.

MIVSB managing director Mohamad Azriani Abd Aziz said by integrating HAVELSAN’s field-proven technologies with MIMOS’ advanced deep-tech strengths, MIVSB is not just importing technology, but co-creating a sustainable industrial ecosystem that ensures Malaysia remains at the forefront of the digital economy.

Meanwhile, HAVELSAN chief executive officer Dr Mehmet Akif Nacar said Malaysia represents a strategically important partner for the company in the Asia-Pacific region.

“This agreement is not only about collaboration, but about co-building scalable and interoperable digital capabilities that can respond to real operational needs.

“By bringing our experience in software-intensive systems together with Malaysia’s strong innovation ecosystem, we aim to deliver sustainable, locally adaptive solutions with global relevance,” he added.
