Gold Futures End Higher, Tracking US COMEX Gains

KUALA LUMPUR, April 8 (Bernama) -- Gold futures on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed higher today, tracking gains on the United States COMEX gold market.

At the close, the spot-month April 2026 contract rose to US$4,821.70 per troy ounce from US$4,709.90 per troy ounce, and the May 2026 contract climbed to US$4,841.30 per troy ounce from US$4,730.00 per troy ounce at Tuesday’s close. 

The June, July, and August 2026 contracts also finished higher at US$4,859.80 per troy ounce compared with US$4,749.30 per troy ounce yesterday.

Trading volume increased to 32 lots from eight lots yesterday, while open interest climbed to 81 contracts from 57 contracts previously.

Physical gold was fixed at US$4,611.70 per troy ounce at the London Bullion Market Association afternoon fix on April 7, 2026.
