KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE) aims to attract 400 local companies to explore new export opportunities through Sarawak Export Day 2025, to be held on July 2 and 3, 2025, in Kuching, Sarawak.
MATRADE chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz stated that organising the event is a crucial effort to open up new opportunities for more entrepreneurs in the state and to prepare them to penetrate international markets.
“Sarawak has demonstrated outstanding export performance and remarkable economic resilience.
“Export Day Sarawak 2025 will feature panel sessions and business networking opportunities designed to equip exporters with the latest market information and trade facilitation provided by the government,” he said in a statement today.
Mohd Mustafa added that Export Day Sarawak 2025 would be a historic event that not only celebrates Sarawak’s export achievements but also stimulates broader growth and international cooperation.
In 2024, Sarawak recorded an export value of RM116.8 billion, representing a 3.82 per cent increase from the previous year, making it the state with the fourth-largest exports.
Key export commodities from Sarawak include mineral fuels and lubricants (58.9 per cent), manufactured goods (16.0 per cent), animal and vegetable oils and fats (14.7 per cent), and machinery and transport equipment (5.2 per cent).
Export Day Sarawak 2025 is organised by MATRADE in collaboration with the Sarawak State Government through the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Sarawak (MINTRED) and Invest Sarawak, and will take place at the Imperial Hotel.
Companies interested in participating in the event are encouraged to register promptly to secure their place in this premier trade event via this link.
