KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 – The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Council’s (MAIWP) newly-launched book “Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin Dalam Konteks Masyarakat Kontemporari” (mercy to all creation in the context of contemporary society) will be translated into English, Mandarin and Tamil to reach a wider audience.

Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, Datuk Seri Dr Mujahid Yusof Rawa, recently announced that the rahmatan lil ‘alamin concept will be adopted as a national policy to give Malaysia a new image.

MAIWP chairman, Datuk Seri Syed Hussien Alhabshee, said he foresees the translated versions to be ready for circulation by the first quarter of 2020, while right now 1,000 of the Bahasa Malaysia version will be distributed to public universities.

“It will become a reference resource for policy-makers, the education sector and general public,” he said at the book’s launch today at Universiti Islam Antarabangsa Malaysia (UIAM).

The 256-page book which explains the idea behind rahmatan lil ‘alamin is the collective work of 20 authors who are local public university academics.

It was launched in conjunction with UIAM’s Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin Week which ends tomorrow, which is also when Mujahid is expected to launch the International Rahmatan Lil ‘Alamin Seminar at the university.
