TANAH MERAH, June 27 (Bernama) – The National Entrepreneur Group Economic Fund (Tekun Nasional) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with a private company to start a wholesale hub for 4,000 traders in Kelantan.
Tekun Nasional chairman, Datuk Seri Mohamad Suparadi Md Noor, said it will be ready before the end of the year.
“We’re in the process of signing some documents that include those related to land and building ownership to make certain the project goes smoothly.
“The hub will be able to generate no less than RM100 million a month,” said Mohamad Suparadi while adding it is aimed at helping retailers get supplies cheaply and inspiring graduates to start a business.
“Many source their products from Kuala Lumpur or China at a high cost. We plan to become their wholesale partner for supplies that will be cheaper than getting them from China,” he said after officiating the district level ‘Hari Potensi Kanak-Kanak Tabika Kemas’ at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) Gual Ipoh, today.
He said Kelantan is lucky to be picked for the hub because there is a strong entrepreneurial spirit here.
“If we study the amount of pasar malam in the country, Kelantan has the most number with traders getting their products from outside the state and overseas, so that’s why we think this state deserves the hub,” he said.
