SEMENYIH, Feb 19 (Bernama) -- One of the things Pakatan Harapan’s (PH) Semenyih state by-election candidate Muhammad Aiman Zainali wants to do for the area is to have more space for youths to be involved in sports activities, especially football.
He said Semenyih used to be a hive for sports activities, and even produced many talented youngsters who had gone on to reach the national level, like former national player S. Kunanlan, who now plays for Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).
“If elected on March 2, it will facilitate my dealings with the relevant departments and agencies to fulfill my wish,” he told reporters here today.
Muhammad Aiman, 30, said the development of the youth groups, comprising 24,000 voters, would be his priority if he wins the by-election.
Meanwhile, the engineer, who is pursuing a PhD in electrical engineering at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Shah Alam, said he also hoped to continue several projects planned by the previous Semenyih state assemblyman, the late Bakhtiar Mohd Nor.
He said that among the things which the late Bakhtiar wanted to do was to help groups like single mothers and other recipients on housing matters.
The by-election is being held following the death of Bakhtiar, of Bersatu/Pakatan Harapan, of a heart attack on Jan 11.
It will be a four-cornered fight, involving Muhammad Aiman, Zakaria Hanafi (Barisan Nasional), Kuan Chee Heng (Independent) and Nik Aziz Afiq Abdul (Parti Sosialis Malaysia).
