KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 6 (Bernama) – Parliament was informed today that the approval given to Tawau Green Energy Sdn Bhd to build the country’s first geothermal power plant was cancelled on Aug 29 by the government.
Energy, Technology, Science, Climate Change and Environment Minister, Yeo Bee Yin, said owing to this, the 37-megawatt energy quota awarded to the project will be redistributed to other suitable renewable energy projects, such as biogas, biomass and small hydro.
