GOLD FUTURES END SLIGHTLY HIGHER

KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 (Bernama) -- Gold futures contract on Bursa Malaysia Derivatives closed marginally higher today despite a firmer US dollar.

At the close, spot month May 2024 contract inched up marginally to US$2,326.60 per troy ounce from US$2,326.0 at Tuesday’s close.

The June 2024, July 2024, August 2024, October 2024 and December 2024 contracts all settled higher at US$2,336.50 per troy ounce compared to US$2,335.90 on Tuesday.

Volume was down to 28 lots from 31 yesterday while open interest increased to 61 contracts from 51.

According to the London Bullion Market Association’s afternoon fix on May 7, the price of physical gold stood at US$2,319.60 per troy ounce.
