GSF 2.0 Mission Successful In Exerting Major Pressure On Israel

21/05/2026 09:19 PM

SEPANG, May 21 (Bernama) -- The Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) 2.0 mission has been described as a success as it exerted major pressure on Israel and opened the world’s eyes to the regime’s cruelty towards humanitarian activists participating in the mission.

Sumud Nusantara Command Centre (SNCC) director-general Datuk Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said the mounting global pressure had also shaken Israel to the extent that efforts emerged to dissolve the Knesset following the circulation of a video allegedly showing the harsh treatment of GSF 2.0 humanitarian activists.

“One very major development has taken place within the illegal Israeli government, where their Knesset (Israeli Parliament) is being shaken with calls for immediate dissolution due to the intense pressure arising from a video they released showing how barbaric they are,” he said at a press conference on the progress of the GSF 2.0 Mission here today.

Earlier, a video uploaded by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir on social media went viral, showing activists detained with their hands tied and forced to kneel after being apprehended by Israeli forces in international waters.

Sani Araby said anger towards Israel had escalated to the point where the Zionist regime was receiving diplomatic demarches and diplomatic notes that no longer merely condemned but threatened over its harsh treatment of the activists.

“This time, the pressure is no longer coming from countries they might expect to be angry, but from within their own country and also from their allied nations.

“We should define this mission as having succeeded, and this mission has won in opening the world’s eyes and in shaking these criminals.

“I believe the five arrest warrants issued against five of their figures, labelled as world war criminals, including their Finance Minister and Interior Minister, have had a significant impact on this regime,” he said.

Earlier, Sani Araby confirmed that all 428 GSF 2.0 humanitarian activists, including 29 Malaysians detained by Israel in international waters, have now been released and are expected to return home this Sunday.

He said the close diplomatic ties between Malaysia and Turkiye greatly assisted efforts to bring home the Malaysian delegation earlier.

“That close relationship played a role between Malaysia and Turkiye because we (the Malaysian activists) were among the groups released early.

“When boarding the aircraft, our group was given early priority. I believe that is also a manifestation that Malaysia is special in the eyes of Turkiye,” he said.
