Bumiputera Entrepreneurs Must Be Bold In Seizing Opportunities - Melaka Exco

21/05/2026 11:27 AM

MELAKA, May 20 (Bernama) -- Bumiputera entrepreneurs must be bold in moving forward, seize opportunities and be ready to adapt in an increasingly competitive and fast-changing business environment.

State Science, Technology, Innovation and Communications Committee chairman Datuk Fairul Nizam Roslan said entrepreneurs need to shift their mindset from merely sustaining a business to building enterprises capable of growth, creating jobs and contributing to society.

“In today’s environment, entrepreneurs must be quick to adapt, creative and courageous in seizing opportunities based on current needs and market conditions, while also paying attention to branding, innovation and digital technology in marketing their products.”

He said this when officiating the Melaka Gerakan Ekoniaga MADANI (GEMA) 2026 programme organised by Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA) in collaboration with the Malay Chamber of Commerce Malaysia (DPMM) here today.

Also present were MARA deputy director-general Zahari Aziz, DPMM deputy president Amirhamzah Karim, MARA Melaka director Shah Zulmizan Safar and DPMM Melaka president Farosham Naizamohideen.

Among the programme highlights were the Leadership and Entrepreneurship Agenda Talk; “The Founders Circle: From Ordinary Brand to Market Icon - Building, Strengthening and Scaling Brands in Today’s Market Reality”, and an inspirational session with Datuk Chef Wan.

Fairul Nizam said the programme, which brought together MARA leaders, business figures, entrepreneurs and the local community, was timely in strengthening the Bumiputera economic and entrepreneurship agenda.

He said the programme also served as a strategic platform for entrepreneurs to expand networks, exchange ideas and gain business insights through various forum sessions.

“These sessions are aimed at empowering and motivating entrepreneurs to further strengthen and grow their businesses,” he said.

He hoped participants would make full use of the opportunity to gain knowledge and experience from the sessions and apply them to further enhance their businesses.
